Recent research has found that walking regularly can help improve memory, attention, and decision-making, as well as reduce both stress and the risk of cognitive decline.

The Boston Roybal Center (RALI Boston) and Lifespan Lab at Brandeis University are looking for individuals ages 60 and above to take part in a 3-month study investigating the use of a walking app to increase physical activity. The study can be completed entirely via the phone and internet – there is no need to come to the lab.

The RALI Boston Step Mate study involves using a smartphone app to keep track of steps taken every day. It involves filling out questionnaires and communicating with our research team via the app, text messages, email, and telephone. In appreciation for your contributions to this project, you be entered into a raffle to win one of two $100 Visa gift cards! You will also be able to keep the walking app at the end of the study.
